Hello, my name is Adrieana Mitchell and I have 15 years of experience working as a nanny, preschool teacher, and childcare provider. I am also a proud mother of a beautiful daughter, handsome son, and two wonderful step sons.

I was born in California and raised in Austin, Texas. Growing up, I was always around children and that kind of exposure created a huge place in my heart for them. While in high school I was dual enrolled in college courses for Early Childhood Education. As soon as I graduated High School I landed my first job at a Montessori school working with children eighteen to thirty six months old.

My daughter was born In 2008 weighting 2 pounds 9 oz. I put working on hold for two years so that I could dedicate the time and resources she needed being that she was born premature. After some time, I decided to open up Brilliant Start Home daycare after having the experience of being a teacher in a variety of large overcrowded child care facilities. I observed all of the children in the daycare setting and was bothered by the lack of attention some of the children as well as my own were not receiving. I believe a smaller group setting ensures your child is more likely to get the one-on-one interaction and care he or she needs and deserves.

Home daycares usually have mixed-age groups, which closely mirrors that of a nuclear family dynamic and may help your child become more accustomed to learning around older children if they are not already.

My favorite thing about home childcare is that it's a warm, cozy, and familiar environment, where children can always expect to receive copious amounts of attention. Being home with my own daughter has given me the opportunity to watch her learn and grow in a positive and attentive home environment.

I would describe myself as optimistic, responsible, honest and energetic! I am someone who genuinely enjoys children and infants. I feel it is extremely rewarding to play such an important role in a child's life and help prepare them for the future. I also am sensitive to the challenges parents face in raising their children. I take being a caregiver seriously and I am a solid resource in ensuring that children are able to bond and thrive in ways conducive to learning and growing. If I were asked to describe in one sentence the reason I have chosen to be in the childcare field over any other; it would be because I am passionate about using my talents in assisting parents in raising their precious children. I can honestly say that I enjoy what I do!

I feel the children are entitled to respect, patience, and affection. My goal as a caregiver is to nurture and support each child so they can feel safe and confident enough to explore and progress through the stages of childhood.

Vision:

Providing childcare that reflects the warmth of a home environment and is respectful and responsive to the individual needs of children and their families.

Philosophy:

My goal as a childcare provider is to introduce children to a quality learning environment where they can learn through play and benefit from a structured but flexible curriculum. The children will also learn and grow physically, emotionally, cognitively, and socially at their own pace and to the best of their ability. My childcare will meet the children's needs by providing a safe, clean, nurturing and loving environment. I will also provide a fun and exciting learning experience that adequately stimulates the mind of each learner. My daily program is designed to be flexible enough to respond to the needs and interests of the children as individuals as well as in group settings
